Argo ("we," "us," "our") is a privacy-first AI application built and operated from Switzerland. We act as the data controller for the limited personal data described in this policy.
Contact: privacy@theargo.ai
Argo is designed so that your personal data never needs to leave your device. Understanding our architecture is key to understanding this policy:
We collect very little data. Here is a complete and exhaustive list:
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email address | To notify you when Argo becomes available and to send occasional product updates | Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) | Until you unsubscribe or the waitlist programme ends, whichever comes first |
| IP address | Rate limiting to prevent abuse (not stored persistently) | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) | In-memory only; discarded when the server restarts |
Argo (the company) does not collect, receive, store, or process any of the personal data you use within the Argo app. All of the following stays entirely on your device:
We do not operate servers that receive your prompts. We do not have analytics or telemetry in the app that report personal data back to us. We cannot read your chats, your vault, or your memory — even if we wanted to.
When you use Argo with your own API key, your device sends pseudonymized prompts directly to the AI provider you chose (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI). Argo is not an intermediary in this communication.
The provider will see pseudonymized content (fictional names and substituted identifiers) associated with your API account. Your real personal data is replaced locally before transmission. We encourage you to review your provider's privacy policy and data-handling terms.
Honest disclosure: pseudonymization breaks the obvious identity link — the provider does not see your real names or numbers. However, we do not claim that cross-session correlation is impossible: writing style, content patterns, and metadata could theoretically allow inference. We are transparent about this limitation.
Separately from the app, this website counts what happens on its own pages: that a page was viewed, how far it was read, which section was reached, that the download button was clicked, that the waitlist form was submitted. Each of those records carries a referral tag and a timestamp, and no identifier of any kind. Section 9 sets out what is recorded and what is never attached to it.
For the avoidance of doubt, we do not collect or process:
This list is about the Argo app. For what this website itself counts, see section 9. This does not cover strictly necessary storage set by our payments and accounts provider on this website — see section 5.3.
Your email address is stored by Resend, Inc. (our email service provider) as part of a managed audience list. Resend processes your email solely to deliver messages on our behalf. Resend's privacy policy is available at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
This website is hosted on Vercel, Inc. Vercel may process standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) as part of providing the hosting service. See Vercel's privacy policy.
There is no checkout, no account sign-in, and no payment processing on this website. No payments provider's software is loaded here and none receives anything about your visit.
Resend and Vercel are US-based companies. Your waitlist email address and standard server logs may be processed in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as applicable.
Your personal data within the Argo app is not transferred anywhere — it stays on your device.
Under the GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), you have the following rights regarding data we hold (i.e., your waitlist email):
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@theargo.ai. We will respond within 30 days.
For data stored locally in the Argo app, you exercise these rights yourself — the data is on your device, under your full control, and we have no access to it.
This website sets no cookies, writes nothing to your browser, and loads no third-party scripts. There is no analytics vendor here, no tracking pixel and no advertising identifier. We do not profile you and we share nothing with advertisers. The Argo app contains no tracking or telemetry whatsoever.
We do count what happens on these pages, and we would rather describe it than hide behind the word “none.” Most sites that say they use analytics mean a third party is watching their visitors. Ours is our own code, counting our own pages.
What we record. That a page was viewed, how far down it was read, which section was reached, that the download button was clicked and which version it pointed at, and that the waitlist form was submitted. Each record carries the page it happened on, the referral and campaign tags described below, and the time it was written.
What is never attached to it. No IP address. No browser, device or operating system details. No fingerprint. No cookie, no account, and no number invented to recognise you by. There is no identifier on these records at all, so there is nothing that ties one of them to another, to a person, or to your email address if you later join the waitlist. They are counts, not visits.
Honest disclosure: a count is not much use without a time, so every record has one, and each is written in the order it arrived. A time, an order, and a shared referral tag are, in principle, a weak hint that two records came from the same visit. We have built nothing that does that, and there is no identifier that would let us do it with any confidence. We would rather show you the edge of the claim than call it impossible.
A referral tag. A link we have shared somewhere — a post, a video description, a newsletter — may carry a short tag in its web address saying which channel it came from. It describes the link, not you. A campaign link may carry a few more of the same kind, the standard campaign tags naming the campaign, the medium and the placement. They are the tags attached to the records above, and if you join the waitlist the referral tag is stored alongside your email address too, so we know which channels are worth our time.
Where it is kept. In a database we control, not with an analytics company. Nothing about this counting is written to your device. Separately from all of it, our hosting provider processes standard server logs for every request to this site, including IP addresses, as described in section 5.2. Those logs are the hosting, not the counting, and we do not join the two.
If you join the waitlist we send you the download link by email. That email is sent through Resend, named in section 5, and carries no open tracking and no click tracking.
Argo is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
For the waitlist, we use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), rate limiting, and secure third-party providers.
For the Argo app, the strongest security measure is architectural: your data never leaves your device, so it cannot be breached on our side. Local processing means there is no central database of user data to protect — or to lose.
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are in Switzerland, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via our website and, for waitlist members, by email. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
